Welcome to the first post for Trippin' Thursday. If you've followed my blog, you know this is the follow-up to Tortuga Thursday and is the next chapter in our adventure. Whether you're an old-timer or this is your first visit, here's what I hope to accomplish:
In everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose...in our latest season, with only a vague plan and a touch of creativity, we're off on another adventure. Half of this twosome is retired; my half will probably never know what that means. I promise to share.

Gym membership too expensive? No exercise equipment at home or you can't get going on your own? There's no room in our RV for equipment. Even if I did have money to throw at a gym, we're too far from any town of size. I spend way too much time sitting on my butt in front of this computer. So...twice a week I gather with a couple of other ladies at the clubhouse. I have a great squat routine I lead them in, or we do a yoga tape, or an aerobic session. It's social and it's healthy. Get some friends together and get your butts in gear!
Brenda, it sounds like a good life. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Roz.
DeleteAh...retirement. Not sure if I'm looking forward to it not. Enjoy your winter retreat, Brenda!
ReplyDeleteIt does present a whole 'nother set of circumstances to deal with...depending on your financial status, the age of your parents, and where your children are in life. All stuff I intend on tackling, Stanalei. An adventure! LOL
DeleteBrenda, sounds like a great time. I have an Indie series of book(s) set in an RV Park on South Padre, TX about mature couples finding love. I've got one book out and the second coming for Valentine's Day. Did we talk about this before? But I really like the look of your new blog. What made you change the name? Just curious.
ReplyDeleteHebby, love that concept. You have to come on my blog and do a post! How about a Wicked Wednesday because ol' cupid has his wickedly sharp arrows out.
DeleteKnow the feeling about 'retirement'. I thought I retired a year ago but then my granddaughter and her baby needed an emergency place to stay and now I'm not as 'retired' as I'd thought I was-lol. I don't fish but I'd love to have the view of the lake out my windows or off my deck/patio!
ReplyDeleteFunny how granddaughters can alter our lives...and we love it don't we, Judith?
DeleteI worked hard (English teacher and H.S. principal) for 33 years; now I work more sanely as an author. Sane means no alarm to hear in the a.m. and setting my own pace for what I accomplish each day. Sane also means changing my writing location on a regular basis...which is what you're doing. Soon we go to the Borrego Desert a week, followed by a week in Palm Springs. After that, I'll write a couple of weeks in Kauai. Yup, I set the pace and place. That's the way life should be!
ReplyDeleteLove it, Rolynn. You get around more than I do so I'm envious! But I do love the setting my own routine.
DeleteHi Brenda, Sounds like you have a great handle on retirement. Your "squat" routine reminded me that I need to revamp my own exercise regimen. :)
ReplyDeleteWe always need to revamp from time to time, Joanne!
DeleteBrenda, you always land on your feet in the most amazing way!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
What a nice thing to say. Thanks!
