FEARLESS FRIDAY
This is a fun fearless post...a restless teen who is game for reckless adventures. I remember the movie, and this series sounds like a great prequel.
You met her in the movie Sweet Home Alabama. Now see what Melanie Smooter was like before she became hot fashion designer Melanie Carmichael.
In high school, Melanie Smooter is known as Felony Melanie, the teenage troublemaker of Pigeon Creek, Alabama. Aching to escape the boredom of small-town life, her restlessness sparks many reckless adventures. Her boyfriend, Jake, is always by her side – and the local sheriff is usually close behind.
Head back in time to the early 1990s for this laugh out loud rom com based on one of the best rom com movies of all time.

EXCERPT:
Melanie pounded on the door.
Jake opened it. “Melanie?”
“Y’all got to come with me, Jake. Right now.”
Jake looked over to Coach. “I’m kind of in the
middle of something. As you know.”
“Yeah, but…” Melanie needed a story that would
get Jake out of there immediately. “It’s your mama.”
“What about my mama?”
“She’s at the hospital. There was an accident at
the roadhouse.”
Jake blanched. His lip trembled. “Is she okay?”
Uh oh. Maybe she’d gone a little too big. “Oh
yeah. Just a little burn. There was a fire in the kitchen. Very small. She put
it out with the fire extinguisher. She’s kind of a hero, actually.”
Coach stood up and grabbed a set of keys off his
desk. “Come on. I’ll drive y’all over there.”
Melanie held up her hands. “No, no, no. That’s
not necessary, Coach. She’s fine, really. She mostly went as a precaution.”
Jake crossed his arms. “Then why is it so
important that I leave right now? I have something important to discuss with
Coach.”
Shoot, this lie was growing bigger than a possum in a restaurant’s garbage can.
